THE STORY BEHIND 73 WAX ST.

This photograph was taken in Limenas on the beautiful island of Thassos, standing beside my son during our first journey to Greece together.
At the time, I had no idea this trip would one day become the heart of 73 Wax St.
Looking back now, I realise this trip quietly planted the seeds for everything that followed.
Travelling through Greece wasn't simply a holiday.
It became a journey back to my family's heritage, introducing me to places, traditions and memories that would eventually inspire many of the collections I create today.
AN UNEXPECTED NEW BEGINNING

After spending more than twenty years working in finance, my health unexpectedly forced me to slow down and reassess what truly mattered.
During that difficult season, I discovered candle making.
What began as a creative escape soon became something much greater.
It gave me purpose, peace and the opportunity to create something meaningful with my hands.
Before long, I realised I wasn't simply making candles.
I was creating moments.
Moments that help people slow down, reconnect with themselves and create beautiful memories within their homes.

As a proud Greek Australian, I grew up surrounded by family, faith and tradition.
Some of my strongest memories aren't things I can see...
They're scents.
Fresh citrus picked from the garden.
Olive trees warmed by the sun.
Traditional baking filling the kitchen.
Family celebrations that brought everyone together.
And the unmistakable aroma of Livani (frankincense) drifting through beautiful Orthodox churches.
Those fragrances became part of who I am.

In 2019, I travelled to Greece for the very first time.
As we explored Thassos, Kavala, Thessaloniki and many other beautiful places, every destination left a lasting impression.
One memory that stayed with me was visiting Orthodox churches throughout Greece.
The peaceful atmosphere...
The soft candlelight...
The beautiful aroma of burning Livani...
Years later, those memories inspired one of my most meaningful fragrances.
Every time someone lights my Livani candle, I hope they experience a little of the peace I felt in those sacred places.

One of the things I loved most about travelling through Greece was the incredible hospitality.
After almost every meal we were offered homemade sweets, desserts or a small aperitif before leaving.
One flavour never left me...
Mastiha from the island of Chios.
That memory inspired Chios Island Blend—a fragrance celebrating generosity, warmth and Greek hospitality.
Then there was Golden Beach.
Standing on the golden sand, watching the sunlight dance across the crystal-clear waters of Thassos, I realised some places never leave your heart.
Years later, those memories inspired Golden Sands, a collection created to capture that feeling forever.
The Ritual Collection was born from a different kind of memory.
One of quiet moments.
Lighting a candle.
Taking a breath.
Finding peace in everyday life.

This candle is named after my daughter Alexia. She is bold, creative, and full of golden energy — someone who lights up every room she enters. Alexia has built her own thriving business in marketing, and seeing her chase her dreams with such courage and passion makes me endlessly proud.
Alexia Aurea is so close to my heart because it holds her fearless spirit. Each time it glows, I’m reminded of her strength, her warmth, and the way she inspires me to keep moving forward with love and determination.

ZOE BLEU
This candle is named after my daughter Zoe. From the time she was little, she’s shown me the beauty of quiet strength — gentle, thoughtful, and kind, yet with a determination that shines through in everything she does. She is now studying and working in the dermal science field, building a future that reflects her care for others and her drive to succeed.
Zoe Bleu is so close to my heart because it carries her spirit within it. Every time it burns, I’m reminded of the grace and resilience she brings into my life, and the way she inspires me in the most steady and meaningful ways.
